Santa María Madre de Dios, acompaña e intercede por Nosotros este Año

¡Muchas Felicidades queridos hermanos! Hoy es un día especial para todos nosotros. Así que, feliz año nuevo, y la fiesta de María, madre de Dios. Damos gracias a Dios por las celebraciones de hoy, las cuales son grandes fuentes de bendiciones. Primero, por el regalo de un año nuevo. Segundo, por el don de una preciosa madre para acompañar, consolar e interceder por nosotros a lo largo de este año.

El título “madre de Dios” es del griego “Theotokos” (portador de Dios). A través de esta celebración, la Iglesia nos recuerda el papel especial de María en el plan de Dios. Esta solemnidad puede ser trazado al concilio de Éfeso en 431. Oficialmente, se celebró primero en Portugal como la fiesta de la maternidad divina de María. Esto fue con el permiso del Papa Benedicto IV, en 1575.

En 1931, el Papa Pío XI extendió la fiesta a toda la iglesia. Finalmente, en 1974, el Papa Pablo VI quitó la fiesta de la circuncisión de Cristo del calendario litúrgico el primer día del año. Lo reemplazó con la solemnidad de María, madre de Dios.

Sobre el importante papel de María en el plan de Dios y la solemnidad de hoy, la Iglesia enseña: “María, la Santa y siempre Virgen Madre de Dios, es la obra maestra de la misión del hijo y el espíritu en la plenitud del tiempo. Por primera vez, en el plan de salvación y porque su espíritu la había preparado, el padre encontró el lugar de la morada donde su hijo y su espíritu podían habitar entre los hombres (CIC 721).

El año nuevo nos ofrece nuevas oportunidades, nuevas ideas y nuevas resoluciones. Es un signo de regeneración y un tiempo de nueva esperanza. Cada año nuevo, hacemos nuevas resoluciones. Lamentablemente, apenas los guardamos o cumplimos. ¿Porqué? Posiblemente, porque siempre tenemos prisa por hacerlas, y consecuentemente, no consultamos a Dios sobre tales resoluciones.

Por lo tanto, una cosa importante que debemos hacer este año es resuelva a fortalecer nuestra relación con Dios. Proverbios dice: “encomiende todas tus obras al Señor, y él establecerá tus planes (Prov 16, 3). También, el salmista nos amonesta: “Comprometa al Señor tus empresas; Confía en él que lo hará bien (Sal 37:5). Por lo tanto, este año debemos desarrollar el espíritu resiliente de Moisés que insistió ante Dios: “Si no nos acompañas, no dejaremos este lugar (Ex 33, 15). También, como Enoc, caminemos con Dios este año (Gen 5, 27).

Nuestra primera lectura es una bendición importante del año nuevo y directa de Dios para nosotros, su pueblo. Es una señal de la fidelidad de Dios, y su voluntad a caminar con nosotros este año. Por lo tanto, a través de sus bendiciones, Dios nos ha preparado para nuestro camino este año. Por lo tanto, todo lo que necesitamos decir es un resonante amén a esta bendición, y caminar justamente con Dios este año.

En la segunda lectura, Pablo relata la encarnación de Dios en María. Es decir, como Dios hacerse carne en la Santísima Virgen María. Pablo nos recuerda nuestra filiación por la participación, y nuestra adopción como hijos del mismo padre con Cristo. En consecuencia, nos recuerda que, por la misma adopción, somos hijos de María, Madre de Dios.

El evangelio simplemente nos enseña que María cumplió su papel como madre hacia su hijo. Ella lo concibió y lo nutrió con amor y ternura. Igualmente, lo acompañó a través de cada paso y etapa de su vida, incluso hasta su muerte en la cruz. En otras palabras, no sólo dio a luz a Jesús, María le ayudó a cumplir el plan de Dios para la humanidad. A través de esto, ella se presenta como el epítome y modelo de la buena maternidad

Así que, mientras continuamos nuestro caminar con Dios este año, pidamos constantemente la intercesión María, madre de Dios: Oh, Santa Madre de Dios, no desprecie nuestras oraciones en nuestras necesidades, sino líbranos de todos los peligros, oh gloriosa y bendita Virgen. Amén. ¡Feliz Año Nuevo!

Holy Mary Mother Of God, Accompany And Intercede For Us This Year

Congratulations, my dear brethren! Today is a special day for all of us. So, happy New Year, and feast day of Mary, Mother of God. We give thanks to God for today’s celebrations, both of which are excellent sources of blessings. First, for the gift of a new year. Second, for the gift of a precious mother to accompany, comfort, and intercede for us throughout this year.

The title “Mother of God” is from the Greek “Theotokos” (God-bearer). Through this celebration, the church reminds us of Mary’s unique role in God’s plan. This solemnity can be traced back to the Council of Ephesus in 431. Officially, it was celebrated first in Portugal as Mary’s Divine Maternity. This was with the permission of Pope Benedict IV, in 1575.

In 1931, Pope Pius XI extended the feast to the entire church. Finally, in 1974, Pope Paul VI removed the feast of Christ’s Circumcision from the liturgical calendar on the first day of the year. He replaced it with the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.

About the important role of Mary in God’s plan and today’s solemnity, the Church teaches: “Mary, the all-holy and ever-virgin Mother of God, is the masterwork of the mission of the Son and the Spirit in the fullness of time. “For the first time, in the plan of salvation, and because his Spirit had prepared her, the Father found the dwelling place where his Son and his Spirit could dwell among men” (CCC 721).

New Year offers us new opportunities, new ideas, and new resolutions. It is a sign of regeneration and a time of new hope. Each new year, we make new resolutions. Unfortunately, we hardly keep or fulfill them. Why? We are possibly in a hurry to make them, and consequently, do not consult God about such resolutions.

One important thing we must do this year is to resolve to strengthen our relationship with God. Proverbs says: “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans (Pr 16, 3). Also, as the psalmist admonishes us: Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He shall bring it to pass (Ps 37: 5). Therefore, this year we must develop the resilient spirit of Moses who insisted before God: “If you do not personally go with us, we shall not leave this place… (Ex 33, 15). Also, like Enoch, let us walk with God (Gen 5, 27).

Today’s first reading is a crucial new year’s blessing direct from God to us, his people. It is a sign of God’s faithfulness and His willingness to work with us this year. Hence, through His blessings, God has equipped us for the journey ahead this year. So, all we need say is a resounding amen to this blessing and walk justly with God this year.

In the second reading, Paul recounts the incarnation of God in Mary. That is, how God took flesh in the Blessed Virgin Mary. Paul reminds us of our sonship by participation and our adoption as children of the same Father with Christ. Consequently, He also reminds us that we are children of Mary, the Mother of God, through adoption.

The gospel simply teaches us that Mary fulfilled her role as Mother towards her son. She conceived and nurtured him with love and tenderness. She equally accompanied him through every step and stage of his life, even till his death on the cross. In other words, not only did she give birth to Jesus, Mary helped Him to accomplish God’s plan for humanity. Through this, she presents herself as the epitome and model of good motherhood

So, as we continue our walk with God this year, let us continuously ask for the intercession Mary, Mother of God: Oh, Holy Mother of God, despise not our prayers in our necessities, but deliver us from all dangers, oh glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.
